Put the lidded box in the freezer for at least 24 hrs. The food is completed freeze-drying when the entire dry ice has disappeared. This method could acquire 24 hrs or even more, dependant upon how many layers of food you’re freeze-drying (and exactly how much dry ice you’ve used to deal with it).
